- Wine can possibly cure sore throats. At least this cure doesn’t run into the cavity issues of sucking on hard candy.
- Torres uses the Da Vinci Code-style marketing to sell Priorat wine.
- Drought in California hits California wine country. Russian River needs to cut the water drained from the river by 10%, plus many more are hit. Oddly enough, grape growing uses the least amount of water compared to other crops. And this comes on top of Australia’s crop being down 25% due to drought.
- “Ratatouille” wine starts selling at Costco stores in early August. I wonder if it will be for sale in Ohio with our crazy label laws? Also, are they going to put the cartoon character on the bottle? How close to the line are they going to get with advertising to children? Think back to Joe Camel. A bit more information has been found on the Ratatouille wine–it will be a $13 white French Burgundy, or Chardonnay.
- The iPhone has wine uses? Oooooo! Supposedly, you “can answer a series of questions about wine preferences, and then if you’re shopping for wine, you type in a particular wine you see, and the iPhone will tell you if you will like it and if you should buy it.”
