- Starting with the 2007 vintage, Bordeaux will have 3 less appellations. Most of the Côtes will become one. Premieres Côtes de Blaye, Premieres Côtes de Bordeaux, Côtes de Franc and Côtes de Castillon, will be Côtes de Bordeaux. These are on the right bank in Bordeaux, meaning they are Merlot-based wines.
- Cru Bourgeois is now illegal. This is due to the legal challenge to the 2003 classification.
- It’s the earliest German vine blossom on record! For the 2007 vintage, blossoming is a week earlier than in 1993.
- So it’s not just Ohio– rose sales in the US are up 45%! We can hardly keep good rose on the shelf!
- Wine stops robbery. I wonder if you can get a discount on homeowner insurance if you have a wine cooler? This way you always have a selection of bottles at the right temperature to help stop the robbery. You never know if they will like red, white, etc.
